Technical Job Skills
Empowering the Students Skills towards Technical Jobs
The Philippine has the trifocal education system; these are the hierarchy structure of bureaucracy of formal organizations in the government with different mission and vision. The melancholy part is the direction of these organizations to alleviate the unemployment problems in the country. The looming unemployment dilemma result to the slow down of the economy, there are massive retrenchment in the different part of the country and frail support to the education system. Now, the new government is in the stand of command to dictate the direction of the education system, it remains trifocal system as of this writing but then again, its not the trifocal system problem but the think tanks behind it.
We need to improve the educations system in the different part of the Philippine region; there are parts of the Philippines that are still leaving like nomads. These people could not read and write as far as literacy is concern. The basic education starts at the very young age and in between gaps of diddling their time in studies there must be an incubation system to train and shape the skills of these students. It is inevitable that education today is glued to commercialism practiced by some public and private schools. There are mushrooms of colleges, universities and training centers in the Philippines, yet the quality of education given to the students is far off compare to the neighboring asian countries. The Political system is one of the reasons also that impedes and choked the projects intended to manpower and youth development trainings.
Had the Philippine government imposed a stern policy for human resource and academe orientation to
Philippine Technical
industry then it's not possible that our students in different academes could get a descent job here and abroad. The trifocal education should emphasize the importance of Technical skills and knowledge that is the practical way of applying in the real technical jobs in various industries. First, the Higher Education department must study and analyze the trends of the
technical jobs
in various industry and give focus to the most saleable and marketable human capital to the global market. On the other hand the training centers must handle the vocational courses in straight forward trainings and avert redundancy of requirements. The trifocal system is good, but we need to focus in a hierarchy structure of the higher education with out doing its own entity just to impress each other. The best way is to put all these departments in one structure of education and create a sector of application.
The extension studies of post graduate students must serve as sharp researchers in their own turf with export quality of education to compete with the American and European studies. It is better to avert redundancy of agency service, like putting up departments with congruency of tasks to the other department's, it's a matter of using the clusters or segments to have direction of tasks in one box.
Skills and knowledge is part of the training, it is the meat of the education system. The more we sharpen the minds of the students, the chances they could get the right ticket to the best technical jobs in different industry.

How can you get a job if you have no technical abilities?
I studied for a social science degree, but the degree was purely theoretical, in other words I was given big text books to study in order to pass exams. But my problem is yes i have a degree but I dont have any trade/technical/application orientated kind of skill? how do i move forward.
many thanks.
I would go to your local occupational center (if you have one) and enroll in some technical application classes to put on your resume and for your own benefit.
If you have minimal technical skills (using the computer), you can find/get a job working in an office. As long as you have a four year degree, getting an office job (insurance company, claims, customer service) in the meantime will be easier.
What kind of career do you wish to pursue?

10 Most Enduring Skills
As technology advances and technical jobs become increasingly competitive, it's important to maintain skills that will stand the test of time. But which skills are the most enduring in the technology realm? Does knowing C++ really matter? What about a Professional Engineer certificate? The reality is that the most valuable knowledge is not that specific; it is adaptable to any technical industry (and even many non-technical industries). The following list highlights ten of the most enduring skills.
1. Innovation
First recognize the difference between invention and innovation. Invention is the discovery of a new concept or idea. Innovation is the application of invention (old or new) to a specific problem that requires a solution. It is innovation, not invention, that ultimately delivers value and draws customers. Learn to not only think inventively, but also innovatively, and you'll develop enduring value for your employer.
2. Problem-Solving
This may seem like a basic skill, especially in technical fields, but too often we mistake patches and quick fixes for true solutions. Effective problem-solving is much more comprehensive. It is important to understand how to break down and analyze problems to their root cause, then effectively address and mitigate or eliminate the root cause.
3. Project Management
Know how to effectively manage a project from initial concept through completion and delivery. Understand budgeting, scheduling, resource management, logistics, team leadership, and delegation.
4. Product Development
Understand the process required to transform a sketch on a napkin into a tangible product that customers will appreciate. Recognize how market research, customer input, functional analysis, value engineering, prototyping, and iterative design techniques affect the process.
5. Economic Analysis
Successful businesses rely on good economic analysis to guide their investment decisions. Study cash flow analysis and learn how to calculate rates of return on technical projects. A keen understanding of economic analysis techniques can prove to be an enduring skill due to its value and its rarity.
6. Troubleshooting
Learn how to effectively troubleshoot and/or debug complex systems. Fast and accurate troubleshooting is a highly valuable skill and its fundamentals can apply to numerous technical industries. Know how to break down a system into its constituent parts and isolate problem areas. Understand how to determine potential failure modes, their causes, and their effects.
7. Intellectual Property Management
Study the roles of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. A good understanding of intellectual property law will help make your products more valuable. And considering that laws are enduring, skills in intellectual property management will be enduring as well.
8. Software Design
Software is prevalent in every technical industry, and this fact is not likely to change. Regardless of your technical field, it is important to know the fundamentals of software design. You don't have to target a specific language (though a modern object-oriented language is a safe start). Study design patterns and development models. Most software engineers will agree that a great software design should never depend on the syntax of a specific language.
9. Presentation
Learn to deliver more engaging presentations. Study principles of graphic arts to help improve your presentation slides. Also study your audience, and focus on delivery as much as content. Good presenters are informative yet forgettable. Great presenters are enlightening and memorable. For more insight into great presentation styles, take a look at TED.com.
10. Customer Relations
Know how to develop and maintain good relationships with customers. Be prompt, courteous, and honest. Establish yourself as a well-respected contact person and you will greatly improve your enduring value.
