Staffing companies—have they started resume writing?
Day before yesterday, a colleague and I were perusing through few resumes for Web-Designer positions. Although, I must admit, that the resumes were really bad in the sense that anybody with years of professional work experience would should at least get out a good resume when applying for a job. There are millions of free sample resume present online, all you have to do is just type, “Sample resume Web-designer” in Google, case closed.
Apart from the presentation part, it happens that the resume sometimes don’t even make sense. For e.g.:
- Resumes won’t mention the name of the company they have worked for
- Wont’ mention the company names relating to the respective project names
- Wont have any flow to the resume—“A resume should tell a short yet good story about you”
- Resumes are clear-cut case of plagiarism. Although accepted, we could just see that the person copy-pasted similar things from his own resume.
Staffing companies can come in here. Instead just formatting and submitting the resume to the client, staffing companies should address the resume carefully and at least pass it back it back to the client so that candidate knows that there are some serious road-blocks in the resume.
The above guy still might have been a very good at the skills for which he intends to sell himself. But, if you are recruiter, here is a very good chance for you to spot weak links in a candidate just by looking at the resume. We are NOT looking at the dress a person is wearing, not even at the shoes he is wearing to judge a person. Chances are that you can figure out the same without looking that person.
A resume is a persons chance to advertise himself as a commodity. Still, the best resumes instill life into the resume by adding tinges of carefully planned personal notes. It’s a tough job lets admit it, but we can at least lessen the chances of mistake, if not avoid a mistake. A resume is a gateway; one can’t even travel if the resume doesn’t do the job of opening that gateway. Do u still get it?
One would not be surprised if we see more and more staffing companies start helping out people in resume writing and presentation. In fact, it happened with me few days back, I was told by a very good recruiter that my resume gave an idea different from an idea that I wanted to project—Are other staffing companies getting any clues from it?

A Good Employment Staffing Companies Can Help You Find a Job
In the first quarter of 2010, California's unemployment rate lingered at around 12.5%, which is about 3% higher than the national average. For anyone who is looking for a job, this means that the competition for the jobs that are available is still as fierce as ever. However, this doesn't mean that finding a great job in this economy is impossible, explains Marcus Dillard of Dillard and Associates, a company that focuses on job placement in Anaheim, California.
While you may have what you feel is the ideal resume and years of experience to boast of, you may also find that potential employers are still not contacting you for interviews. And although there's no doubt that you are qualified for a number of available positions, sometimes it is the sheer quantity of applicants that causes your resume (and you) to get lost in the crowd. For this reason, you may need to alter your current job seeking routine and change the way you present yourself to business owners and hiring managers. An effective way of accomplishing this is to work with a local employment staffing company in your area.
Evolving Company
If you are looking for an employment staffing company in Anaheim or in your area, you should investigate which types of industries each company most often works with. For instance, when Dillard and Associates first began, we frequently filled jobs in the accounting and administrative fields. Now, however, we have expanded our areas of expertise to include engineering, customer service, and project management. And our company is still constantly evolving, as more and more businesses in the area turning to us for help in filling their open positions.
Thorough Assessment
The goal of our company is not to meet a desired quota; instead, it is to match those looking for employment with positions where they can succeed. In fact, whenever a job seeker contacts us, the first thing that is discussed is his area of interest and the field he wishes to pursue. Then, we complete a thorough assessment of his desired industry, including what the turnover rate is, how many people are currently working in the field, pay scales, opportunity for advancement, and the impact the economy has had. The job seeker is then also given the website addresses of 10 of the best sites where he can apply for open positions in his field.
Tips for Interviews
In addition to placement services, we also offer tips for succeeding in interviews as well as resume writing and editing. You can either bring in your current resume for critique, or you can sit with our expert in resume writing to have yours individually constructed. Even if we are unable to immediately match you with one of the companies we are working with, or if you choose to take your business elsewhere, we are still adamant about helping dedicated job seekers find suitable employment.
It is a fact that about 12 million people find work through employment agencies each year, and 43 percent are offered permanent jobs after their temporary assignment ends. If you're in need of job placement assistance in Anaheim, then Dillard and Associates is your smart choice. Call us today for more information.
