When you’re preparing for a job interview, make sure you list down all the things to bring along. So get ready to astound them with your list of accomplishments, attainments and experiences. If possible, bring along any certificates, licenses, or documents to show proof.
Research the company and your job position, so you won’t get dumbfounded when they ask something related to their firm. This also shows your enthusiasm to join their work force. You can do your research online, through brochures or books from the library, and by asking friends who might know anything about the company. If you’re lucky, your friends may know someone already working in the company who can give you valuable pointers.
Know your strengths and weaknesses. Think of how your skills or personality can benefit the company, and disclose them when you get the chance. This is one of the keys to success when preparing for a job interview.
If you’ve worked for a previous establishment and have accomplished something worthwhile, include them as well. Just be aware they might ask you the reason for leaving your past company, so think of a suitable answer in advance.
Aside from preparing the answers, you should also prepare a list of questions to ask the interviewer. This will show that you’re really interested to work with them.

Job Interview tomorrow!! Help, I really need this job!!?
This isn't by far my first interview but I've only had ONE job before and it was at Burger King. My interview tomorrow is at Country Market, (a grocery store). It might not sound like much but where I live, no place is hiring.
I applying for a cashier position.
Is there any interview techniques you would recommend. Or what should I say??

Okay, well to start with, you have to make sure that your appearance is good: neat, clean and presentable. I would suggest wearing something nice, but not too nice, since you don't want to over dress..maybe some khakis and a polo shirt for the type of place you are applying at.
First impressions are really important. You need to appear really positive, so smile a lot. If you are sitting when the interviewer comes to get you, stand up. Be extra polite. Say ma'am, sir, thank you, its a pleasure to meet you, etc.

so you will have an idea of what they might ask and you can be prepared. During the interview be aware of your actions: sit up straight, don't fidget, smile and look the interviewer in the eye. Its ok to take a mintute to think about your answer!! Don't just blurt something out. Make sure you have some answers prepared, because they will more than likely ask you why you want the job, why you will be good for the job, and they will ask about your past work experience. Always be positive. If they ask you how you liked your old managers, never say anything bad about them. This shows that you can get along with everyone.

Using the right interviewing techniques can be a great way to find the best employees. The job interview is an integral part of the hiring and selection process. Although it does not fully tell you the capability of the applicants, the interview can give you a brief background on their character and it could test a candidate's cultural fit.
Here are some interviewing techniques that you could use to source out the employees that you need:
At the start of the interview, introduce yourself and explain the purpose of the interview. Let the applicants know that you will be jotting down notes, but anything they say will remain confidential. It's important that you follow through on this promise because talking about the interview or the applicant to other people will put a shadow on your professionalism and work ethics.
Encourage them to speak openly and to be candid about their response. Since the aim is to obtain information about the applicants, avoid giving comments about their response and simply listen or ask follow up questions if their answer is vague. Talk in a calm and clear tone of voice. Do not tell them your views and reaction to their answers. Remember that this interview is about the applicant, not about you. You have to be encouraging and pleasant to talk to so as to put them at ease with you. This is especially important for applicants who are not used to expressing their views.
Maintain good posture and eye contact. Keep your facial expressions at bay even if you hear from them things that are negative or shocking on your part. It would not be good if you would appear to be judging a person's answers. This will prompt the applicants to clam up and be careful with their answers, depriving you of the honest answers that you most need. Display warmth and interest to what they are saying instead of coldness, disapproval, or indifference.
Prepare a set of questions which would clearly identify if the applicant has the qualities that would fit your company and the job vacancy. Test the questionnaire on a friend or colleague to check if there are problems with the questions and to eliminate those that will not give you any meaningful data. Avoid leading questions that tell the applicant "this is what I want to hear", or "this is how you should answer".
Be open and listen to the answers, but when the applicant seems to be story-telling already, gently change the topic so that you can move on to the next questions. Sometimes, applicants talk at length about a certain topic. If you allow them to control the interview and talk about irrelevant matters, you will be spending more time than what is necessary. If this happens, shift the topic or make a safe comment and then ask next question. Do this without appearing rude.
At the end of the interview, thank them for their time and explain to them the next step. For example, you could tell them that they would know the result of the interview after a specific period of time.
