How To Write a Letter to a Former Boss Who Fired You?
The dreaded question, in a job application has come up: May We Contact This Employer?
The truth is, I'm afraid to say "yes", but only know this will wind up seeming suspicious. I was fired from my last job for absolutely unfair reasons. Everyone knew it was budget cuts, but my boss insists I had an attitude problem (which was absolutely not true - I was one of the nicest people there?? so i was befuddled when I heard this).
I am going to rise above this and write my former boss an e-mail in hopes that she can look at my positive attributes over the (imaginary) negatives ... so that she might consider putting in a good word for me...
IS this a waste of time?
IF I do write her a letter, should it be quick and to the point? Should I ask her why she fired with unjustifiable cause?
Well, if it makes you feel any better, your ex boss isn't allowed to directly say "she was an awful employee" because that's a form of slander, but she won't give you a glowing review if they call her.
Why don't you ask former coworkers instead, to be references. That way they have specific people at that company to talk to and avoid your boss. I hope that helps.

CAFE INTERVIEW TIPS?? TOMORO HELP 10 POINTS!!?
im 17 and hav a interview tomoro at a small cafe place in town, im a girl btw, this would b my 1st job and interview, i need some tips during interview, and wat should i wear? i hav long hair so should i wear it up or down?
wat questions will they ask? if they ask wat are my strenghts and weakness are wat r some examples?wat does this question mean?
what positive attributes can u bring to the to the company??
any tips, like how would i answer why i want the job thanx
Interviews, yay!
Wear it either half up/half down, a braid, or a low ponytail. I have long hair and usually do one of those - whatever looks most conservative for your face shape, hair type (curly? straight? thick, thin, layered?)
Also dress on the conservative side. What is the job for? Waitress versus cashier? I'd wear khakis and a nice sweater or a collar shirt. I think since it's a cafe, no need for a suit. A nice skirt and turtleneck also work. NO short skirts, NO low tops or belly shirts...no stripper heels...etc. I don't think you need to be stodgy, especially if it's a really funky cafe - then show your funky side to show you'd fit in!
Strengths and weaknesses. Always know how to turn one around or show that you are willing to turn one around. For example, a strength can be you're friendly and work well with a team, but then also know how to crack down and be a leader when you need to. A weakness could be that you're stubborn and like to stick to a plan once you set it out. However, you're good at listening to others opinions and know when to give in, but your stubborness has also helped you achieve a lot of goals...etc. And here you should give a specific example. Maybe, for my final essay in this class, I wanted to do this topic and set out, did the research, but once my prof told me it was difficult b/c a, b, and c, I looked into it more, incorporated his suggestions and then stuck it out 'til the end and did really well on the paper (okay...not a great example, but you get the point!)
Positive attributes - really think about what makes sense for you. Are you really friendly and bring people together? A leader? Are you meticulous and always get the task done right and on time? Are you really creative and always bring new ideas on how to make things more efficient?
I do a lot of interviews for the company where I work and for my experience, what the interviewER is looking for is just that the interviewEE is confident, smart, and flexible. If I throw a hard question at you, don't get awkward and say "that's a hard question." Pause for a second to collect yourself, then smile and say, that's a great question, you see....etc etc etc.
Remember to ALWAYS reserach the company where you're working. I've had interviewees come in and say things like 'honestly, I have no idea what your company does.' That is a huge red flag.
Google interview tips, there is a lot of info out there and remember to just be confident and prepared. That way you won't feel too nervous. Just smile and be yourself!
