There are some advantages you get for paralegal work in NC.
State Support
The first and most important of these benefits is that the state supports its paralegals through the North Carolina Paralegal Association (NCPA). This association is an affiliate member of National Association of Legal Assistants. It provides the paralegals with a network of information, resources so that they can continue their education, a center for career growth and other advantages that would help them grow in their profession.
State Attorney General Initiative
Are you interested in public service? Well in that case NC paralegal jobs would definitely appeal to you. Homeowners who have been struggling have been provided with protection through legal aid in the state. The state has also done its best to extend its help to the rest of the nation.
The Attorney General of the state has a strong voice for consumer protection. Hence a lot of laws have been enacted that protect against unfair foreclosures, debt collection and predatory lending. It has been proposed that a Federal Consumer Protection Agency be set up that would support stronger lending regulations.
Employment and Salary
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that around 8920 professionals are engaged in paralegal employment in NC. They earn an average salary of $41,100. While around 43% of the professionals have bachelor's degrees, about 51% of them are certified. The salary varies depending on the city you are in.
If you are looking for high paying paralegal jobs in NC, then you should try your luck in cities as Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte. Other areas like Asheville, Wilmington and Winston-Salem pay less. However the difference in salaries is not much compared to the cost of living in these cities.
Job Market
There are a lot of fields in the legal arena. Out of this, real estate and litigation are the fields that make up for 30% of the NC paralegal work market. 15% of the market is shared by corporate and civil paralegals. Asheville, Chapel Hill and Greensville are good places to find paralegal jobs in this state. Some of the employers include the North Carolina Department of Justice, legal staff agencies and the North Carolina Paralegal Association.
Qualification
To be a paralegal in NC you do not require formal certification but there has been the establishment of a voluntary certification course by the North Carolina State Bar Association. This has been designed to promote competency among the paralegals and standard of education. An exam is held for the certification process which gives rise to the designation of the North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP).

Having trouble finding offshore welding jobs..any suggestions?
I am a certified First Class Welder. I am currently employed in Mississippi but my family and home is in Georgia and we are unable to relocate at this time. I have diligently been searching for a job close to home or an offshore position with a "2 week on/2 week off" or "1 month on/1 month off" schedule that will allow me to be home more with my family. I have been searching for months now and just can't seem to find what I am looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
