Flood damage in the southeast US
The southeast United States is the region which encompasses such states as Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama Florida and some neighboring states with Florida as the anchor. It is a warm and humid area for the most part and except for occasional droughts ,like recently in the Georgia area it rains quite a bit. In addition areas like Florida, Georgia and Alabama are hit with hurricanes, some severe enough to cause dangerous flooding. When flooding occurs caused by the rain and the rivers and other bodies of water flowing into areas that cannot hold the excess water. problems develop.
Most of the area of the southeast is at a low-level which adds to the problem when too much rain falls and rivers top their banks and levees. You must do all you can to make sure the flooding does not enter your premises. Sandbagging the area is the first step. When there is just too much water there is not much else to do but move your most valuable items to higher ground. This could be the second story of your home, or if enough warning is given by the weather service, items can be removed from the area. It need not be said that with severe life-threatening hurricanes, you should remove yourself and your family first from the locale.
Once the damage is done it must be assessed. Your insurance company should be notified, if applicable. Afterwards, a good company is required that will get everything back to as close to normal as possible. There are many such businesses around. Do your homework through the internet or recommendations from those who have utilized these services before. In the southeast there should be many such people.
Call some of these businesses that restore the area by drying out the water damage. They are professionals in drying out flood damaged homes in the southeastern states. When the job is completed your home will appear as if nothing happened. Have the work done quickly before mold shows up in this wet environment. Speed is of the essence if you are to restore your home and property with the least amount of damage remaining.
Your home is your number one investment. Do not put off hiring professionals to repair flood damage to your property. Do it yourself projects are fine, but this is not the time for on the job training. If you are stubborn and decide to do the work yourself, in the long-run it will cost you more money and aggravation.

Sometimes, there isn't anything as genuine as having roadside or street vendor food. Why is that? The taste is authentic to begin with. The spice isn't lowered to suit western tastes (unless you personally request it), the ingredients are local and the environment is as Southeast Asian as it can be. The cook or vendor quickly whips up the meal right in front of your eyes, allowing you to see the ingredients used, and perhaps steal their methods and recipes for your try at Southeast Asian cooking when you get back home. There's fish sauce, chilies, sugar, garlic, grounded nuts, lime and all kinds of condiments on the table, ready to flavor your meal just the way you like it.
How about vegetarians? There is always an alternative. Don't want meat? Request for tofu or vegetarian balls instead. Don't want fish sauce? Try local soy sauce. And no worries, almost every store will have an abundance of vegetables, ensuring that vegetarians are catered for.
So, you take a bite. Ask for a piece of tissue not only because of the tantalizing mix of zesty flavors brings out a sweat, but also because of the sweltering heat.
