Youth Employment in Australia

The first country which comes to our mind when we think of migrating to other country is definitely none other than Australia. Although Australia is a very strong economy and supports a large mass of population when we look at the facts and figures about "Youth Employment in Australia" the reality is almost very shocking. Nobody can deny the fact that youth form a very important part of the economy of a country and the youth of today decide what will be the fate of a nation tomorrow. Thinking logically we should not be alarmed on seeing low youth employment rates in Australia. Youth, although an important aspect of our economy are new to the world of economy and quite inexperienced to straight away start doing some jobs. Youth are devoid of any skills which puts them in a lot of risk of not being employed. After all the companies need profits and by hiring people with adequate experience they are to save a considerable amount of their resources by not having to impart them any kind of training. In the following lines I will discuss about the findings of a report with respect to youth employment in Australia- According to a recent report the youth from the age from 15-24 were at the highest risk of not being given employment in Australia. In the year 2004 about 20 percent of the youth from the age group of 15-19 years were not employed and about 23 percent of the youth between the age group were not having any kind of employment. The findings of the report do not end here itself; they go on and further declare that 45 percent of the total youth in the age group of 19-24 were not having full time employment. The reasons for this existing scenario were well investigated and found out. It was found that the most of the youth who were not employed were from low socio-economic backgrounds or were from some rural areas so they have not much resources with themselves to support themselves in urban areas due to high cost of living and hence end up being unemployed. One other major reason which was found out for low youth employment was early school dropouts. The youth tend leave learning institutions early on and hence end up being devoid of any knowledge and skills. Low employment rates may result in underemployment and unemployment in future. The government has brought many policies to improve the situation such as direct job creation and employer subsidy are some of the programs which have been successful in the endeavor of creating employment in Australia. Government has shown great concern over helping the youth becoming employed. Stress is being laid upon providing adequate education and training to the youth so that they are adequately skilled before stepping into a job. Several support services are also set up which will assist and guide the youth and hence help promote their well being.

How to get a car loan with a casual job? (Australia)?

I have a steady job which is casual and i have had it for two months. I have been working for the past two years full time before this job. i earn a minimum of 650 a week and can go up to 800 sometimes. I have nobody to go garuntor for me. I dont have statements of credit cards to show but i do have direct debits that i always paid i can show?

Where can i get a car loan of about 13,000 sercured. Im happy to wait until 3months in my job. PLease someone help me!

First of all, lower your expectations. With no guarantor, and a casual job, it is financial suicide to take a loan like that. Firstly, you should not need a guarantor. Your loan should be nobody's responsibility but yours. If you can't get a loan without one, don't ask someone to guarantee a loan for you. I had a friend guarantee a mobile phone for another friend, who then left an $850 Telstra bill unpaid. My friend nearly lost her car. Going guarantor is very serious. Don't ask anyone to do that for you. You are not their responsibility.

You could be sacked on an hour's notice and have no job next week. I have worked casual jobs. They are the first to go when they are cutting staff. At least with a permanent job you have holiday and sick leave paid out and you are not terminated immediately. Do you realise what a fragile situation this is? We are entering a recession, where jobs are usually slashed. Nobody's job is secure. Don't be complacent and take a big loan. Buy a car for around $6000. You'll be more likely to get a loan, and it'll be easier to pay it off. Necessity says you need a basic car. Ego is telling you you want a flash car. Ignore your ego. I drive a car that is nearly 30 years old, and it works just fine.

You don't need a loan that high. Rates are really low, but they'll eventually go back up, and that loan will come back to bite you. You shouldn't get a loan for a car anyway. If you borrowed $10 000, at 8.5%, you'd pay $2300 just in interest over 5 years. Your minimum repayment would be more than $200 a month, which is fine when you're working, but not when you're not. You've been at this job 2 months. I had to be at a job for 2 YEARS before I was eligible for a loan, and that was a home loan, which is a far less risky proposition, because houses go up in value, not down, like cars. That is why borrowing to buy a car is inherently foolish. They are never worth what you paid for them, so even to sell the vehicle, you will still have to repay some of the loan. The sale will not cover the price. Not good.

If you insist on getting a loan, go to a loan broker and talk it over. That is the best way to get a cheaper rate and find a suitable product. They will do all the legwork for you, and help you set up the loan. Find a broker in your local yellow pages or ask around. Don't just go to your bank, because you'll get whatever crappy bank car loan they have on offer. Loan brokers have a heap of different loan products to offer you. They get paid a commission regardless of which one you choose, so you'll get a good deal.

Do not apply just yet. You have not been there long enough to get a loan at a reasonable rate, and you need to wait and save more of your income. Wait a few months, and stash your savings. That will improve your likelihood of getting a loan, because they will see that you have a good savings history. If you have a credit card, you need to make a regular purchase with that card, and then repay it immediately. Do this for a few months to improve your credit.

You have not been at the job long enough, and it is a casual job. Do not apply for a loan, or you'll risk getting rejected, which will ultimately make it harder to get a loan when you are ready. Save a couple grand (on your wage, that should be easy. You earn more than I do) and then apply. Borrow the bare minimum you need. If rates go up, or you lose your job, not being able to pay a loan will seriously stuff your credit history, which will make it really hard to get a homeloan or another car loan in the future. Also, you risk losing the car, and having a huge bill on top of it. Don't make that mistake. Be smart with your money. I know it sounds like I'm patronsing you, but I worked with a girl who was a casual at my work. She got laid off. She had a car loan of $15 000. She lost the car. Now she's unemployed and she can't even get to job interviews, thanks to crappy Australian public transport.
