College Football Week 1: Southern Mississippi vs South Carolina Odds
2010 college football odds kick-off with an ESPN prime time telecast as the South Carolina Gamecocks host the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles. Kick-off Thursday night is set for 7:30pm EST and online sportsbooks have opened with South Carolina as a 14-point favorite at home with an over/under betting total of 46 in week 1 college football picks. Southern Miss is coming off back-to-back bowl seasons under head coach Larry Fedora, who enters his third year on the job with what is considered to be his most talented team heading into 2010 college football betting odds since taking the job. Fedora's challenge will be getting that young talent up to speed as Southern Miss will be highly inexperienced on offense with just 3 starters returning. Luckily one of those veterans is junior QB Austin Davis, who had a sparkling 16/3 TD/INT ratio last year.
Davis' favorite target, junior wide receiver Demander Brown, also returns after averaging 17 yards per catch with 9 TD's last year. The defense is highly experienced with 9 starters returning to a unit that looks to cut down on the 26 PPG allowed in college football odds last year. Southern Miss has gone 4-2 against the spread under Fedora as a road underdog. Steve Spurrier enters his 6th season on the job at South Carolina with what most observers consider to be his finest team and with his best chance of winning the SEC East since he took over the program.
Spurrier is known for his offensive genius which makes it ironic that he has never developed a top shelf quarterback at South Carolina. Junior Stephen Garcia returns in 2010 Vegas odds to lead an offense with 8 other starters back. Garcia was up and down season last year as he finished with a 17/10 TD/INT ratio. Defense has actually been good at USC under Spurrier and is expected to be an asset as 7 starters return. South Carolina covered 3 out of 4 non conference games last year but was 1-2 against the spread in college football picks as a home favorite.

How do i become a highschool football coach?
I want to eventually become a college football coach, and i know i have to get my graduate asisstant degree. But, it seems that you actually have to know someone to become a coach now a days. Is there a website or someplace where they list head/assistant coaching jobs?
The best thing to do is to contact the athletic director at the schools in your area. They will likely put you in contact with their head coach who will talk to you and, if he likes you, bring you on as a walk-on (unpaid) assistant. It's very unlikely that you can get a head coaching job without some experience.

College Football Week 2: Key Games and Odds
A phenomenal week 2 of college football betting action begins with a key SEC showdown on ESPN as Mississippi State hosts Auburn at 7:30pm EST on ESPN. Both teams are coming off impressive wins last week and online sportsbooks have opened with the Tigers -3. The key to this week 2 game may come down to the shaky Auburn defense being able to tighten up. Friday features an ESPN double header on the college football week 2 schedule starting with a huge intra-state match-up of Marshall hosting West Virginia at 7:00pm EST on ESPN. This will be the home debut of new coach Doc Holliday, who was a key assistant and recruiter for West Virginia before taking the job with the Thundering Herd. Holliday is hoping for a far better performance than the one he got last week in a blowout loss at Ohio State but the WVU is a Big East favorite and a 13-point favorite in college football odds.
The nightcap on Friday at 10:15pm EST on ESPN features a high powered Houston Cougar team hosting an up and down UTEP. Sportsbooks have opened with the Cougars -18 college football betting favorites at home. Saturday on the college football week 2 schedule will host many of games with BCS implications beginning with a host of games starting at 12:05pm EST. One of the most important key betting games of the entire year in the SEC as South Carolina hosts Georgia on ESPN2. Both teams are coming off impressive opening wins and are considered the prime challengers to Florida in the SEC East. Sportsbook have opened with the Gamecocks -2.5 favorites at home.
Florida will host South Florida at 12:25pm EST and will not be televised nationally, especially since the Gators were not impressive at all in their win last week over Miami-OH. The offense was sloppy and a far better effort will be needed against a USF team that is picked to contend for the Big East title. Many college football betting handicappers think that Florida might be an overlay as -16.5 favorites at "The Swamp". Iowa and Iowa State are coming off impressive wins and make for an important key betting game for the college football week 2 schedule at 3:35pm EST on ABC. Iowa is a Big Ten title contender but Iowa State is a dangerous, bowl minded team that could be a bargain as +13.5 underdogs.
