Has anybody applied for a job using AVUE Central (Federal Employment) ?
I applied for a position that has an open enrollment until all 100 positions are filled. I put in the application on 07/20/10 and it's still on the "Basic Requirements - Tentatively Passed" status. I'm wondering if it takes a long time for them to go through all the applications or should I use one of the emails provided to contact them regarding the application? (The email was however a general forest service hiring email and not directly related to the specific job I applied for, which makes me more hestitant to send an email).
I applied for two forest service jobs using AVUE on May 1, 2009.
On August 12 (over three months later), I received two e-mails, one for each position, saying "Your application for the position of Mechanical Engineer, GS-0830-12 at SAN DIMAS, California has been evaluated. Based on your self-certification of your response to the questionnaire, you were found to be eligible for the position and your name was referred to the selecting official. Qualifications of selected candidate(s) will be verified by Human Resources prior to job offer. If interviews are conducted or additional information is needed, the selecting official or someone from the Human Resources office will contact you. You can check the status of this vacancy at any time by accessing https://www.avuedigitalservices.com/usfs/applicant.html. If you applied to an open continuous announcement, you will receive separate notifications if you are being considered for positions at other locations." and "Your application for the position of Mechanical Engineer, GS-0830-11 at SAN DIMAS, California has been evaluated. On October 20 (over two months after the previous e-mail and over five months after I first applied), I received an e-mail saying "You applied for the position of Mechanical Engineer, GS-0830-12 at SAN DIMAS, California on May 1, 2009. The announcement for this position has been cancelled. If this position is readvertised, you will have to reapply. You may access https://www.avuedigitalservices.com/usfs/applicant.html or http://www.avuecentral.com to find this position if it is readvertised or other positions which fit your employment plans or which may be of interest."
As of August 2010, over a year since I originally applied, I still do not know the final decision regarding the GS-0830-11 position.
