Acting agencies in London?

First of all, I want to say that I'm not naive about the acting business! I just want to do some on the side of both my studies and eventually my job, as acting is something I've always enjoyed and been successful in so I'd love to continue it in anyway I can.
So, I figured I wanted to join an acting agency. I live in London which I know is great as it is full of networking opportunities for acting etc. The questions I ask are:
1) Are there any decent acting agencies in London that work on a commission basis? (i.e. Not paying until I get a job)
2) How would I approach them?

Thank you so much for your help, I'd also be grateful for any tips you have! :D

Unless you are incredibly lucky, the only way is to get paid acting work is through an agent. Unfortunately, it’s not at all easy to get an agent – they usually come looking for you. Many agents will not even allow you through the door unless you have done three years’ training at one of the major drama schools, and getting in to any of them is really hard – they get up to 4,000 auditionees applying for 24 places every year. Most agents will at least want to see you acting in a public performance before they agree to represent you, so it's a bit of a Catch-22 situation - you can't find work without an agent, but you can't get one until you have work.
Most auditions for film, TV and stage work are made known to agents, but not the general public, so you can't find out about them at all without an agent - it seems unfair, but that's the way it works. And you should never pay an agent – genuine ones take a percentage of whatever pay you get through jobs they find for you.
